Cycling in Auckland during Sunset
A young cyclist on his bike cycling in Auckland along the Viaduct harbour waterfront during sunset. Yet another great image showing the beauty of the waterfront at the Auckland harbour. The colours of the sky and clouds were really stunning but lasted only for a short time. Even though it was a lovely and warm evening, there were surprisingly few people around this area of the Viaduct harbour. I had to wait for a while until somebody cycled past me, which means I was lucky to get the shot above.
Cycling in Auckland can be great fun, depending on where you are. Within the pedestrian area along the Viaduct harbour waterfront and in the Wynyard Quarter, there is (almost) no traffic, which makes those areas great for cycling. The sidewalk leads all the way down to the Westhaven Yacht Harbour, over a long wooden path right on the edge of the water. I highly recommend cycling down there.
