White Fronted Terns
On our recent trip up north of Helensville, we saw a group of White Fronted Terns sitting on a wooden wharf frame, at Shelly Beach at the Kawau Parua Inlet. The birds were coming and flying in the strong wind, bringing and eating fish. It was good fun watching then, especially as the wind was quite strong and the birds were able to simply glide and remain at the same spot in the air.
