This image was taken on the Aotea Square. The sky was very overcast on this day, but the wooden Maori Gate was impressive enough for me to take a couple of pictures of it. I waited a while for the people to move in/out of the picture which turned out to be a bit of a standoff situation as some of them waited for me to take my photo as you can see by the guy hiding behind the left pillar of the gate. He waited for me to take my photo and I waited for him to leave the frame.

In the end I left but was still positively surprised how this photo turned out in the end. I choose to keep it in black and white as the sky and the Aotea square were really grey and plain already.
