If you leave the Devonport ferry building and turn to your left-hand side, and walk along the waterfront, you will sooner or later end up on this lovely wooden peer. The bright colour of the water really surprised me. Combined with the blue of the sky and the big puffy clouds, this shot could not have gone much better. Maybe perhaps at high tide, if the sailboats were a bit closer to the shore.
The Auckland Skyline in the background and the two wooden piers in the foreground give the image additional depth. I was really happy with this photo. Devonport is always a good choice for a long sunny afternoon.
