Pohutukawa & Skyline
I love late spring and early summer in New Zealand. Pohutukawa trees are in full bloom and make the city more vivid and exciting. There are many places in Auckland and New Zealand where Pohutukawa trees grow right on the waterfront and render the blue sky and turquoise waters in a magical frame.
If you come to visit New Zealand, make sure you visit during the Pohutukawa bloom (plus minus) from mid January until early March. Good spots to take photos of Pohutukawa trees on the waterfront include Mission Bay, St Heliers and Devonport. The photo above was taken in Devonport at the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum.
