WARKWORTH LIBRARY

I was lucky enough to drop into the Warkworth library again this week and to chat with both their history librarian and their manager. These people are knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful and always looking for opportunities to extend the ways they support our local community.

The library space is a fantastic, well-stocked community facility that overlooks our beautiful Mahurangi River. Adjacent to this is tree-lined riverside walkways and a welcoming children’s’ playground.

Inside the library, itself are excellent offerings with a colourful, inviting section for children, computers with internet access and a vast range of other resources – many of which are available at no cost to our residents and visitors.

Our lovely library staff are currently hoping to extend these facilities to offer more of what our local community are looking for and have launched an ‘Ideas Board’ looking for contributions. This is a great initiative, so please take up their offer and contribute your ideas or suggestions to continue to make our local library a vibrant community space.
