Where is BrickBay Vineyard?

A quick scenic hour’s drive north of the CBD. Nestled in Snell’s Beach is the wonderful and surprising Brick Bay Vineyard and Sculpture Trail. We, three ladies, were not familiar with the area but we were excited to be out in the open air and to have another adventure in the Auckland area. As we had all been made redundant recently we were about to make the proverbial “Lemons into Lemonade”.
We had booked lunch in the Restaurant at 1:30. So we took advantage of the time beforehand to take a walk around the Sculpture Trail. The thoughtful staff informed us that it would take a good hour to get around the whole trail.

With over 60 sculptures and art installations, there is something interesting for all ages. Some of the works are interactive and some are thought-provoking. The Brick Bay Sculpture trail itself is supported by the Brick Bay Sculpture Trust. Funds are made available to help selected artists in meeting the financial burden of building outdoor work. As we had a reservation for the Vineyard restaurant we were able to get a discount on our entry to the Sculpture Trail about $2 off.

Brick Bay is OPEN
